The only living species of the genus Elephas (not to be confused with the family Elephantidae), Asian elephants are the largest land animal in Asia. While this little calf will certainly be enormous in just a few years, it still has a lot of growing to do!
Scientific Name: Elephas maximus
Characteristics: At birth, baby Asian Elephants can weigh over a hundred pounds and have been known to stay with their mothers for over 3 years. Highly intelligent even at a young age, this hand painted baby elephant figurine’s inquisitive gait and emotive eyes reflect its striking acuity.
Size and Color: Standing 3.7 inches long, 1 inch wide, and 1.95 inches tall, this figurine is a bit larger than a deck of cards stood on its side. Hand painted with immaculate realism, this figurine looks just like an Asian elephant calf with its dusty gray skin.

The designs of the 4 mats depicted different ways the Chinese celebrating Lunar New Year. The colouring mats will be a nice complement with books on the festival. My girl will enjoy using the broad tip based markers to learn more about the coming festival through active colouring.
